Welcome to the newly published blog that is “A Series of Observations.” It has been a long time in coming, but to be quite honest this has been something I’ve avoided for years. I have no good excuse, and my therapist has many theories, but today is the day I no longer avoid what my soul is called to.
The original series of short stories that inspired the title for this blog was created in a small classroom, in a small, but happy community college in upstate New York. I look back on that time with wonder and admiration for myself. I was just starting college, exploring myself and the world, and the words simply could not be contained inside of me. I had no idea what would soon come, or how expansive my ideas would get. But before that, I was a little girl with vivid dreams, and quick with a pen and paper to capture each thought. Some of the work I hope to share with the world was first created by that young version of myself, and I hope to honor her amazing imagination as an adult with new, but not so different, hopes and dreams. I have set aside and revisited so much of my writing since then, and I’m honored to have the ability to share my work with each and every one of you.
This blog will be an exploration of my mind, with no set path in sight. It will be an accumulation of old and new works, and most excitingly a mystery to us both. Where will this go? And who will we be afterwards? Questions we will explore, and worlds we will escape to. Thank you for taking time out of your day to read each post as they race to your inbox, they are created with love, heartbreak, disbelief and inspiration. I hope we laugh together, cry together, and most importantly…create together. Please join me on this journey by subscribing, and don’t forget to connect!
