Happy Friday! Today I bring to you a tale as old as time, a tale of beauty, and practicality, of aesthetic and comfort. I bring to you…what’s in my bag. You’ve seen a thousand TikTok’s about this and watched every single one because they’re surprisingly entertaining. Just for kicks, here’s another one but in a blog. But hey, I might actually make a TikTok about it too, so find me on there also!
I am someone who isn’t too keen on being ill-prepared. I like knowing that I have the tools in place to overcome any obstacle while out in the wild, whether it be chapped lips, coffee breath, or even a minor injury, I want to have all the basics to get me by.
With this in mind, I’m not really a teeny, tiny purse carrying gal, but I also can’t usually stand an absolute massive abyss of a bag (unless the occasion calls for it). Shoulder bags are adorable and I own many, but I find they aren’t convenient for my day-to-day, and a lot of cross body bags can be quite hideous to be entirely honest. Currently, I’m in my crescent bag era. It offers me a compact, but spacious design with simple features. I recently bought the Wild Fable Half Moon Crossbody Bag in black. It has been a great bag so far, and very durable for the beatings I continually give it.
Let’s get into it…literally.
First, I’ll do a quick list of the random but practical items I keep in my bag just to keep things simple:
- Measuring tape (for furniture or thrifting days, this is a game changer when you don’t want to try on clothes)
- Portable charger
- Loop earplugs (for when the world needs to tone it down a bit, or if I’m somewhere I know I’ll be overstimulated) I have them in an awesome green color!
- Pepper spray (for the bears obviously) though my boyfriend tells me I should get a taser instead…
- Keys for all sorts of doors
- Apple Airpod Pro’s
- Pack of travel tissues Barbie edition
- Small pack of wet wipes
- A lock (I’ll admit I’m not sure why that’s currently in there but it’s handy)
- Apple Airtag
- Wallet with all the essentials. I really like the Coach wallet I recently got. The link isn’t to the exact wallet because I couldn’t find it. Probably because I got mine on sale in store, bit it’s the same idea and color/texture.
Then I have two small pouches to keep things organized. The smaller contains:
- Hairties
- Tampons
- Panty Liner
- Safety pins
- BandAids
- Alcohol wipe
- Neosporin pouch
- Colgate Wisp Toothbrushes
- Listerine strips
- Emergen-C
- Condoms
- Nail clipper
The slightly larger pouch holds:
- Tide-to-Go stick
- Handsanitizer (Bath & Body Works from probably a decade ago, it might not even sanitize at this point, but smells good!)
- Chapstick
- Lip oil #1 (Neutrogena, may or may not be discontinued)
- Lip oil #2 (Milani, shade Lychee Nectar)
- A very tiny and almost dead NYX lip liner in the shade Natural
- Essie cuticle oil
- Halls cough drops leftover from my last Europe trip
That’s what I keep on me to manage the day-to-day. I love seeing what other people deem as essentials, so I hope you enjoyed!
Quick question, do you prefer these types of blog posts to have pictures and links? Or do you think it’s just as effective without the pictures? Curious what works best in blog form.
Have a great weekend!
